Jodie and James were married at the very fashionable Hotel du Vin in Newcastle upon Tyne
photographer was yours truly, Alan Mason.

The place is very urban, super cool decor – and suited their characters very well.

James accepts the wedding ring from the best man, before placing it on Jodies finger.

I hide behind a reack of Champagne bottles (oddly enough – quite appropriate for a wedding) and sneakily get a picture of James and Jodie being married in front of a heck of a lot of Champagne.

I notice that since I’m standing behind the registrar – I can see her book . . . I nab a sneaky picture – it’s the script !

Hah – the official signing of the register picture – carried off in inimitable style by James.

We grab a picture of everyone together in a kind of yard thing that is enclosed by the Hotel du Vin in Newcastle

wedding photographer yours truly, hops onto a small helicopter to get a slightly elevated view of things.

And whilst we’re about it – confetti hurlers hurl confetti.

We sneak around to the front door, or back door, or side door, or whatever door it is at the Hotel du Vin Newcastle wedding photographer yours truly takes a quick picture.

And ever the romantic . . . James kisses his love upon the forehead.

Lurking within, the Hotel du Vin

(did you see what I did there . . . it rhymes . . .  🙂

was a bouquet (rhyme now shot to pieces)

lying upon the top table.

Ah – you say – we want to see more of this place – so I step back, climb onto some small stepladders, and get an aerial view for you.

a view for you . . . it’s almost rhyming . . . I’m working on this poem idea . . . 🙂

James makes his speech.

I slide to the side,

and get another view of James as he makes his speech.

I ought to mention at this point,

that there were five best men, all of whom had a speech to make.

and it was important that James did not interrupt them.

One of the best men fixes a James silencing gadget to James.

newcastle on tyne wedding photographerAfter the speeches – loads of stuff happens,
I take lots of pictures of stuff happening.

One of the pictures being of this bunch of little bridesmaids / flower girls / young fellers, sharing a smile.

Then more stuff happens,
James grabs his gal and they dance.

newcastle on tyne wedding photographer

Actually – they dance a lot.

Everyone at this wedding dances a lot. It’s good to see people enjoying themselves.

And if you needed proof that the guests enjoyed themselves . . .

Just before I left – I noticed some smoke filtering out of a strange wooden hut.

The strange wooden hut is the Cigar Hut at the Hotel du Vin,

which explained the smoke ( cough, cough . . .)

so I pop inside to get a final picture before leaving.

Thank you Jodie and James, for entrusting me with the extremely important job of being your Newcastle wedding photographer,

I did my best – and you have a heck of a lot of happy memories captured forever in these pictures.
