Rather special Wedding venues . . .

Langley Castle

Langley has been around for a while.

It’s probably been around for about six hundred years . . .

From the outside, you’re looking at a genuine mediaeval castle,
but inside those massive stone walls,
you’ll find a four star hotel which is very luxurious.

There are two excellent restaurants at Langley Castle,
and the food is absolutely sublime.

I’ve been there with my wife for a meal for special occasions,
she always says the same thing when we leave . . .

‘we’ll have to come back here again !’

Langley Castle . . . what do I say ? it’s flipping brillliant.
weddings at Langley always have a rather grand feel to them,
possibly because they’re held in a real castle.

‘What about the staff at Langley’ ?

The staff here are all warm, genuine and caring people.

Matfen Hall

You could be excused for imagining that you’re inside a Gothic cathedral
when you stand inside the Great Hall at Matfen.

The tall hammer beam roof certainly looks Gothic,
and there’s a massive stained glass window at the west end of the Great Hall
that is definitely big enough for a cathedral.

Cathedral it isn’t – Great Hall it is.

and it’s a great place to hold a wedding ceremony.
it has grandeur on a scale not found in many places.
(even churches are hard put to equal the feel of the hall).

Matfen Hall has a golf course and a spa,
plus some nicely laid out gardens which could be handy for your wedding photographs.

I’ve always found the staff at Matfen to be helpful,
and wedding co-ordinator Victoria Paterson is a little dynamo
she’s a really good natured girl with bundles of energy.

Wedding DJ

Some have a DJ at their wedding, some folks have a band . . . some folks have an iPod . . .

but if you’d like a DJ . . do consider this fellow.

Colin Cook, he’s an absolute gentleman, guaranteed to make your evening a pleasure.

He is not the cheapest – and he does not sell himself on price,

His equipment is up to the minute, very compact and will compliment the room,

rather than jar with the decor.

He is always dressed appropriately – and he interacts well with your guests.

When you think of it – the DJ will possibly be one of the people at your wedding

who will have the greatest influence on the mood of the evening.

so get it right . . . if you are looking for a DJ,

make sure that you get a good one.

Andrelli Quartet

Andrelli Quartet
I heard them play at a wedding at Lumley Castle.
I liked the sound that they make and the way they looked,

They seem a good natured bunch of fiddlers. 🙂

I know – that’s a cello in the foreground, and they’re violins, not fiddles . . .  🙂

Andy and Gail, nicely presented, respectful, polite and don’t get in the way.

they’ve been around for a while and have enough experience to make sure that nothing goes wrong.

Mark Dowie. a guy who is pretty respectful to the couple, with a professional attitude.
I’ve worked with him a couple of times, with no problems at all.
