Who wants to photograph a wedding in Newcastle City Centre ?
O.K. so, with traffic delays, congestion, parking problems to consider . . .
Well . . . it depends . . . it very much depends upon the couple . . .
Over the years – I’ve made a point of only photographing the weddings of really nice couples.
If you’re a grumpy person – with an angry attitude to life in general
then I’m sorry – you’ll find that I’m just not available for your wedding.
But if I get a nice couple to photograph – I’ll go anywhere and do anything for them,
and on this particular day – we had a beautiful girl (very beautiful as a matter of fact),
a decent looking feller, and most importantly – they were absolutely top class people.
They were extremely good company – and actually wanted to have a good time.
So . . . I was pleased, in fact, honoured, to photograph the wedding of Rachael and Will,
at St Charles Church, Gosforth – and at the Vermont, in Newcastle City Centre.
Told you she’s lovely 🙂
Some brides are into details . . . pictures of things that are part of the wedding,
things that help to tell a story.
So here are some details.
I forgot to mention – there were some bridesmaids,
and some miniature humans in white dresses, also dressed as kind of proto bridesmaids,
I’m guessing that like butterflies from their chrysalis – these little girls will emerge in ten years time,
in pink bridesmaids dresses – just like the older girls who are doing the bridesmaid thing today.
Above – a little proto-bridesmaid miniature human, interacting with the bride
One bridesmaid in a pink dress saying ‘ooh’. (or it could be ‘oh’ ).
I’m not so good at lip reading photographs.
Hmm three little proto bridesmaids – lurking on a sofa
in walks the photographer
then . . .
was it something I said ????
Rachel arriving with one extremely proud father.
at St Charles Church, Gosforth.
I deployed my drone for this picture
I fibbed there . . . just a little bit . . .
I really just walked up a spiral staircase, got onto the balcony and took the picture from above.
I don’t have a drone . . .
It’s not that I don’t like drones . . . I think they’re wonderful, fun even . . .
it’s just that occasionally they can go out of control, and the consequences would be horrific if one went amok at a wedding.
(for the results . . google ‘ drone out of control at wedding’ )
see what you find !
back to the wedding pictures . . . I should stop chatting.
and of course, the bride and groom.
Rachael and Wills first glimpse of the room at the Vermont.
Rachael and Will waiting for the guests to arrive.
This sequence of pictures just made me smile.
the guys are so animated, so deep in discussion . . .
probably football. 🙂
I went downstairs, and found some odd creatures wandering about.
I’m not sure what the little boy in the mirror thinks of the grown ups . . .
and after the first dance – for the sheer hell of it – we wandered up to the Sky Bar, to take a few pictures of the lights coming on in Newcastle.
Thank you, Rachael and Will,
for allowing me to be a tiny part of your
fabulous wedding day.
It’s a day that I’ll remember for a long time.
